The EZ Pleating SystemTM is made up of three primary components. The first, and most important component is the EZ Pleating CalculatorTM. The Calculator is hosted on eYarder.com's website and is the brains behind the EZ Pleating System. Using the EZ Pleating Calculator, you can sew perfect pleats with hidden seams without the aid of any other tool or gadget. There are no special skills required, no complex math, and no special equipment needed to use the EZ Pleating Calculator. Best of all, all pleating instructions are based on 1/8" increments making it easy to locate your marks on a standard ruler.
The second component to the EZ Pleating System is The EZ Pleating GaugeTM. Although it is not an essential part of the pleating process, if simplicity is what you are after, the EZ Pleating Gauge is a must have device. The gauge works hand in hand with the EZ Pleating Calculator's printed instructions, making it possible to mark your pleats and spaces with minimal effort. The EZ Pleating Gauge is designed to make consistent and accurate markings across all widths. No workroom should be without this device.
The third component is the EZ Pleating RulerTM. If finding specific fractions on a ruler is not your specialty, this ruler is the perfect pleating companion for you. This ruler can be permanently applied to your work table (or attached to an aluminum straight edge) using the built in self-adhesive backing and is made with a 10 mil glossy top coat to give you years of reliable use. The ruler works hand in hand with the EZ Pleating Calculator's printed instructions making it possible to mark you pleats using either numeric instructions, or eYarder.com's proprietary alphanumeric instructions. The ruler can work with or without the EZ Pleating Gauge.

The EZ Pleating Gauge is designed to help you make consistent and accurate markings across all fabric widths and is made from two seperate pieces of industrial strength PVC plastic assembled together to create a slide gauge. The width of the gauge ranges from 3" wide when fully closed to 5" wide when fully expanded, and measures 4" tall (the most common pleat length).
When properly set, the width of the gauge represents the width of a single space for your particular pleating project.. When using the gauge, the EZ Pleating Calcultor will instruct you to set the gauge to a specific space size and will advise you where to place the gauge along your panel's header in order to mark your spaces. You will make your marks at the top and bottom of both sides of the gauge resulting in perfectly marked pleats with hidden seams that are ready to sew. Your sewn pleated panel will pleat down to fit your finished dimensions exactly!
